If your pain is more severe you will want to see a doctor. The doctor will give an examination to rule out anything more serious than hemorrhoids. There are several hemorrhoid removal treatments a doctor can offer to help. Most of the procedures can be done in the doctor’s office.
Rubber band ligation – This procedure can be done for any sized hemorrhoid. The doctor will apply two tiny rubber bands to help cut off circulation. This is one of the most effective procedures to treat hemorrhoids.
Injections (sclerotherapy) – The doctor will inject a chemical solution into the tissue of the hemorrhoid. This can help shrink the tissue of the hemorrhoid. This procedure is less effective than the rubber band treatment.
Coagulation (infrared, laser, or bipolar) – This procedure is most commonly used for small to medium internal hemorrhoids. The doctor will use a devise that creates an intense beam of infrared light. This hemorrhoid treatment can cause a small amount of bleeding and discomfort afterwards up to ten days.
