Insights into Simplifying Life

In between having a career one must also stop to introspect that what kind of life we are actually leading. One feels overjoyed while rushing between meetings the whole day, but it can be tiring also. What type of life do we want then?

Find out what is it that is most important to you. Family and friends are always present through the difficult times, and sometimes experience exciting times, independence and control to realize that there is more in life than just work. Try and have more time to understand what is going around you.

Simplify your life and do not only reinvent your life. Think of what is of greatest importance to you, architect your life around those core values, and remove all the clutter that doesn’t serve any purpose. At the outset, think of what really important and before you start getting to simplify things, decide on what qualifies as a high quality life.

Simplification of life may be contradictory to the thought of consumer centric life. We tend to amass a lot of stuff over a period of time and the society thinks that we find happiness in material belongings. This is not only about material possessions. Material activities also can be satisfying to some. We start behaving like pack of rats that race from one experience to another. Even though we feel wanted and important, we aren’t necessarily satisfied.

What has emerged out of this stuff is a movement towards simplicity. When we keep working constantly, we behave like a hamster on a wheel. Most of our salary is consumed due to our expenses and we save only a portion. We should remember that life is short.

We all need to architect an end goal, which will make us attain happiness. This principle can be applied in the day to day schedule. Take out time in your daily routine for new opportunities. One can attain effective time management, which is all about doing lesser things of great importance. Aptly, living a simple life is a philosophy.

Living life simply means unburdening our lives and making it more light and clean. The goal should be to create more rounded, simple and lateral relationships with all the key aspects of our life: which includes the activities we accomplish, bonding with people in our contact and our connections with the world at large. This is in a profound sense a life which is straight on the outside and rich inside.

For a lot of people, simple living translates into basic activities like garden management, afternoon walk in the garden or reading books. The end objective is to decrease earthly possessions and to ensure that you are never in a hurry. By doing away with the disturbances in life, one can focus on the world outside. For some people, living life is all about earning money and amassing wealth and authority. For people who have done the reverse, know that people need good things in life like time to think, introspect and play. Happiness is much beyond power and material possessions.
